CHRISTOPHER K.P. BROWN IS KP ULTRA
Christopher K.P. Brown (KP ULTRA) is a staple in the Philadelphia Spoken Word Poetry community.
He was born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he began writing and performing poetry in 1999.
He is a graduate of Mercer University where he majored in African American Studies with minors in Creative Writing and Studio Art.
Since 1999, KP has released eight books of poetry and eight spoken word poetry albums.
He moved to Philly for graduate school in 2008, leaving school three months into do poetry full time.
In 2009, KP established 2 Pens & Lint, a chapbook publishing company for poets. 2 Pens & Lint has published over 400 poets.
In 2014, he founded Pecola Breedlove & The Freedom Party, a West Philadelphia–based open mic poetry event.
KP launched POETRY215.COM (Philly based poetry events calendar) in January of 2025.
Released in March of 2025, his newest collection of spoken word poetry is titled 84 ULTRA.
When he isn’t working on poetry, he enjoys conducting genealogy work for his family tree research company, Before They Were Ancestors, LLC.
